Melissa DiRienzo graduated from Plymouth State University with a double major in Dance and Psychology. She received a prestigious dance award from PSU in 2007 and was named dancer of the year. Melissa trained for two years in New York while majoring in dance at Adelphi University and has worked with numerous choreographers, including Robert Battle, Lorraine Chapman, Priscilla Wagner, Joan Wiegers, Leda Merideth, and Frank Augustyne. Upon graduating, she spent the next five years performing throughout the Boston, MA, area with Enigmatic Contemporary Dance and Danny Swain Dance Company. Melissa has been a dance instructor for over 10 years and currently resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband and children.
Angie is a master instructor of tap and ballet, and has exemplary qualifications for teaching lyrical, contemporary, jazz, acrobatics, improvisation, preschool dance, and musical theater. She has been hosted as a master instructor by SC Dance Association, DanceMasters of America, Columbia Conservatory (school of Columbia City Ballet), Wando High School, Cardinal Newman High School, the Charleston Russian Foundation, and more.
Angie also teaches non-traditional classes through her organization, FEELanthropi Integrative Arts, for specially-abled dancers, those with movement and memory challenges, and developmental youth programs.
Amanda Evans is a ballet dancer from Copper Canyon, TX. She began her early training at The Ballet Conservatory in Lewisville, TX where she danced with Lakecities Ballet Theatre. She has also danced with Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma while pursuing her BFA in Ballet Performance at The University of Oklahoma. Amanda is so excited to begin her professional career with Ballet Evolution this season and teach at Dance Academy of Charleston!
